- A Hammer
- A 9/16 Wrench or An Adjustable Wrench

#1. Get Everything Ready: Open all two or three boxes of bunk bed and get all parts out. Find the Instruction Manual and keep it handy as you need it throughout the assembly process. Arrange all parts on a side and get ready for assembling the bunk bed in an ideal way.
#2. Build the Lower Bunk: You need to take the lower bunk and put on the floor. Attach the headboard and footboard on left and right sides as applicable. #3. Attach Bed Slats or Bunkie Board to Lower Bunk: In order to hold the mattress the lower bunk needs either bed slats or a bunkie board or a box spring. #4. Build the Top Bunk: Now, build the top bunk same you did the lower bunk and insert bolts to secure it. Then attach the headboard and sideboard on sides of upper bunk.
#5. Install Slats or Bunkie Board on Top Bunk: Just like the lower bunk, the top bunk also requires bed slats or a bunkie board to hold the mattress. If the bed slats are not included then you must buy a sturdy bunkie board for bunk beds and add it to the top bunk of your bunk bed. In case you want to increase height of the mattress then you should get a box spring and add it on the top bunk.
#6. Attach Guardrails Around Top Bunk: The top bunk is high from the floor surface, that’s the bunk bed includes guardrails for it. The guardrails can be attached on all four sides or the upper bunk to provide 360 degree protection. You should attach the guardrails properly to secure your bunk bed.
#7. Place Top Bunk Over Lower Bunk: When both the top bunk and lower bunks are built properly, you need place the top bunk over the bottom bunk. Here you also need to insert screws and nuts/bolts to secure the top bunk over lower bunk.
#8. Attach the Ladder: Your bunk bed may have either an integrated ladder or a separate ladder. When everything is built well, the last thing to attach is the bunk bed ladder. You should attach the ladder where the opening is given on top bunk and secure the ladder with bolts.
